Diabetes

What is Diabetes?

As we all know our body gets energy from the food that we eat, but do we know how we get this energy?
There is a hormone called insulin which is produced in our body, which converts glucose or sugar from our food into energy. Due to some imbalance in our body, pancreas stops producing insulin in our body which is known as (diabetes type 1).

There is another more common form of diabetes (type 2)in which body faces problem regulating their blood sugar. People with type 2 diabetes have high blood sugar because their bodies:

  • Do not produce enough insulin
  • Are not responsive to insulin
  • A combination of both

So basically diabetes is a disease where the glucose in the body does not convert into energy but remains in the blood.
